We are Rob, Sue, Ste & Jones (The Bastard) and this website started in 2011 when I decided to take on the 214 Wainwright fell challenge. We live in St. Helens, Merseyside and travel the relatively short distance up the M6 to Lakeland as often as we can. The love of this beautiful area started around the time when Ste was about 2 years old and we journeyed up one scorching hot August Bank holiday in 1993. To see Derwent Water for the first time and the surrounding fells just completely sold us hook, line and sinker and from that day to this we are still under the spell of this stunning area
Rob - The author of the Website, I currently work as a Unix & Linux systems engineer at the CoOperative Group, and have worked in IT for approximately 25 years. For my sins I am a Liverpool Season Ticket holder (yes I was around in the good times) and I play Northwest Counties Squash. I enjoy the lung burst that you get going up a steep fell, but have to admit I hate climbing in the rain and poor visibility as it sort of defeats the object. Would love to retire to Lakeland, but strongly suspect that finances would not allow  that pipe dream
Sue - The proud owner of one metal knee, earned after years and years of high impact aerobics and several years of  climbing mountains. A housewife (or Domestic Engineer) but also a qualified Secretary. Supports Everton Football Club and is in to most sports. A very accomplished guitar and bass player having been a member of several bands over the years
Ste - Our lovely son, currently employed (and massively under valued) on the Reception at our local Health Club. Follows St Helens Rugby League and is in to Gym Training and Aerobics. Loves Lakeland and is similarly minded in wanting to move up there eventually. Does a lot of voluntary work for our local De la Salle Brothers care home. A lover of nature and the great outdoors
Jones (The Bastard) - Jones is our highly strung and extremely stroppy Cairn Terrier. Overly opinionated and not at all sociable with other dogs, however great with people. He is a very poor car traveller which can sometimes limit his number of trips to Lakeland as 5 minutes in the car with him is more than enough
