Walk Overview

The most simplest of Wainwright Outlying Fell walks from the free to use car park
at Cold Fell Gate near Calder Bridge. Not the most spectacular outlier you will visit

The car park at the start of the walk

From the A595 through Egremont take the minor road that leads to High House
farm and then continue past the farm for about half a mile to arrive at a cattle
bridge and a car park capable of taking at least a dozen or so vehicles

Head back over the cattle grid

Head back over the cattle grid to pick up a wide stoney track on the left

Turn right up the narrow grass path

Almost immediately a narrow grassy path branches off right that gives
access to the open fell side

Aim for the high ground

Its now just a case of aiming for the high ground. There is no right or wrong way
to approach this as it is featureless and pathless. Thankfully not boggy

Heading towards the wooded area

After no more than 5 minutes a small wooded area comes into view. Aim for that

The summit cairn comes into view

Looking towards Seatallan

the only notable one looking North towards Seatallan
