Walk Overview
A charming walk, certainly one for young families. Fantastic views from Ivy Crag
and the true summit as this fell is situated amidst some of the big Fells in the
Southern area. A good track throughout, highly recommended
From Ambleside pick up the A593 heading out towards Coniston. As you approach
Yew Tree Farm there is a lay by at the side of the Tarn that has space for a few cars.
Failing that, there is the National Trust car park at Glen Mary Bridge about a quarter
of a mile further on down the road. The walk starts here.

Across the Tarn follow the path through the wooded area as it runs
parallel with the wall
Through the stile and the path leads through an area
of tall pine trees
Through the Pines and keep an eye out on the left for a gate
in the wall not too long after the stile
Through the gate in the wall to gain access to the open Fell side
The path climbs steadily through an area of large boulders
Looking back to Yewtree Tarn from the climb up the path
The path twists and turns as it makes its way towards Uskdale Gap
