Walk Overview

The smallest of all the Wainwright Outlying Fell walks. A very pleasant 20 minute
stroll, however take note that parking at the Outdoor Education Centre is
extremely limited

The start point of the walk from Outdoor centre

From Grange over Sands follow the road towards Allithwaite and then
the Humphrey Head Outdoor Education Activity Centre. I managed to
squeeze into a layby just yards from the entrance to the Centre

Passing through the Farm

As you approach the Outdoor Centre entrance gate, swing right and follow
a grass path

The grass track

The grass track follows the line of a fence and is easy walking

Crossing the field

Following the track, cross the field and head towards a gated fence wall

The hand gate

On reaching the gate veer right to the corner of the field where a sheep pen
gate gives access to the summit approach as this gate is padlocked
